Connection of T-piece to engine.
Thanks for this excellent blog – I wish I’d read all the contnet prior to starting the build of my 360 as it has answers to many of the things I’ve experienced myself including wrecking the bolt for the steering UJ!
Anyhow, I think I’m up to speed on the engine plumbing requirements – a couple of queations please: 1) I’ve got the bottom hose on OK, but I can’t get the top hose on with the supplied 40mm jubilee clips – wondering if you had a similar experience? 2) There seems to be some debate as to how to terminate the pipe into the oil breather bottle – I think you push yours directly in? I have an elbow and a union but others have commented that they don’t fit properly. I might drop a mil to my new best friend Derek to conform, but I thought you might have a useful perspective? 🙂
Thanks for the kind words about the blog. I struggled with jubilee clips too. I ended up buying a size up and fitted them no problem – 2 years later they are working great, no leaks. I did struggle for a couple of hours with the supplied but wish I’d switched sooner.
I did just push the breather bottle pipe in. The hole I cut in the bottle is fairly snug, but I haven’t fixed it in any other way – and nothing so far has made it as far as the bottle.
Do drop Derek a line to confirm though – although I’m sure I asked him the same thing and I followed his advice.
Good luck with the rest of your build, just the weather gear to sort once the engine is plumbed? I’d be interested to hear how you get on.
